Christer Sjögren
Christer Sjögren was born in 1926.
Education: journeyman
apprenticeship in woodworking, 1947; Art Academy, 1947-1953; Art Academy School of Sculpture, 1953–1958; Ester Lindahl's travelling scholarship, 1961 and 1962.
The works of Christer Sjögren are represented at the National Museum in Stockholm,
Museé du Verre in Liege, Haaretz Museum in Tel Aviv and many other museums both in Sweden and internationally.
Associated with Lindshammar Glass Workshop since 1965. ”Glass is a fantastic material,” says Christer Sjögren. ”When I began working with glass, it took a long time before I figured out the optical effects, the soul of glass. Now, I always pay special attention to that dimension.”
