tool with which craftsmen shape the crystal
by blowing from their lips. They perform in teams at the workshops, the word for which, ”hytta,” simply means ”smelting works” in Swedish. Each and every person in the team has special assignments, and the glass blower who carries out the most difficult procedures is known as the glass blowing master. The glowing mass of crystal glass is plucked from the glass furnace and, using the pipe, is blown by breath from the lips of the glass blowing master. The mass of crystal glass is blown by hand until it attains almost unbelievably   beautiful shapes. 

There still exist many outstanding glass workshops in the Swedish ”Kingdom of Crystal.” In a balancing manner, it is the glass workshop which united the classical and contemporary by means of exceedingly old heritage and traditions.Today, the glass workshops produce, among other items, the exclusively colored crystal art glass which is marketed by Sweden Crystal Design. All manufacturing is conducted with adherence to old craftsmanship traditions. Every crystal glass object is freely shaped by hand and blown by breath from the lips of the accomplished glass hand craftsmen. For this reason, no one object is ever precisely the same as another. In other words, every article is unique. The glass workshop’s various pieces and collections are the result of good design and sound knowledge of workmanship.

Expressed concerns regarding the manner in which products are manufactured exist today. All of Sweden Crystal’s products are of a reliable, environmentally suitable form.

Courtesies and customs vary around the world. How does one present an appropriate gift? 
In order to obtain the correct answer, we interviewed 1,580 company chiefs and executives from around the world. 
The collective picture of wishes which developed during the interviews was passed onward to the crystal glass artists. The glass artists thereafter took such things as weight, shape, volume, transportation, environmental friendliness and exclusive packaging into account when executing their design work. These articles needed to create a positive impression and ought not be considered offensive to any culture. Furthermore, it was desirable that the user or gift giver should be able to present an image of himself by means of a branded logo on the wooden chest in which the individual articles were contained. As an alternative to this, hand engraving could be performed directly onto the crystal glass art object.

Information about the collections.
  • Every one of the pieces of crystal glass art is made by hand at Studio Lindshammar and Studio Glass Strömbergshyttan, which is two of the most highly acclaimed glass production workshops in Sweden.  
  • Each piece of crystal glass art has its own individual identity and is signed by the artist.   
  • A Certificate of authenticity, in both English and Swedish, along with a pamphlet which describes the history and origins of crystal glass as well as a picture of the artists are included with every piece of crystal glass art.  
  • In the collections with gold and silver, the inlays are of 24 carat gold or pure silver.        
  • Each individual piece of crystal glass art is contained in its own hand made wooden chest.    
  • The pieces of crystal glass art in medium and small sizes fit easily into ordinary briefcases. The "Large" sizes fit neatly into conventional luggage, except for the "Large" and "Medium" apples.     
  • It is important to remember that our products never invoke the suspicions of customs and security guards at airports.    
  • Most of the pieces of crystal glass art, except the large and medium sizes of the crystal apples, fit neatly into ordinary briefcases.  
  • You can have your logotype, company emblem or other artwork and text burnished onto the wooden chests. These and such inscriptions as names, dates or other words can be fused, etched or engraved onto the crystal glass art objects.
